JACKODUR Atlas

The JACKODUR Atlas insulation and formwork system for base plates is used in building perimeters under load-bearing foundation slabs. These static-load-bearing components absorb the natural structural loads and the travelling loads without the need for additional foundations, and channel them into the ground.

JACKODUR Atlas is available in thicknesses ranging from 100 to 320 mm. As a result, thermal-bridge-free insulation and foundation-slab formwork can be produced for any type of building with this cost-effective connection system.

The JACKODUR Atlas system consists of the following components:

JACKODUR Atlas angle element
JACKODUR Atlas side element
JACKODUR Atlas formwork element
JACKODUR Atlas surface element

No thermal bridges

The patent-pending connection system used with JACKODUR Atlas prevents the formation of thermal bridges at the top ends of base plates. The system is so easy to handle that laying mistakes are also eliminated.

Cost efficiency

The combination of thermal insulation and formwork system means that both can be completed in a single step. It is not necessary to remove the formwork. This, together with the patent-pending connection system and the single layer of thermal insulation, generates considerable time – and therefore cost – savings.

Certified by Passivhaus Institut

The quality requirements for a perimeter insulation system are particularly high in passive houses. The system must ensure that U values ≤ 0.15 W/(m²•K) can be achieved and that the connections are free of thermal bridges.  JACKODUR Atlas is certified by Passivhaus Institute Darmstadt as a component that is suitable for passive houses and therefore complies with the requirements outlined above.

High level of prefabrication

Thanks to its innovative connection system, JACKODUR is already partially prefabricated, so that, on site, the individual elements only need to be joined together and cut to the desired length. Base-plate insulation and formwork are combined in a single step. It is not necessary to remove the formwork or provide side supports for the perimeter insulation system.

Thermal insulation quality

JACKODUR Atlas is made of extruded polystyrene (XPS). The tried-and-tested JACKODUR base material ensures that your building is durably insulated with secure foundations. At the same time, JACKODUR strikes the perfect balance between sustainable yet cost-efficient insulation.

Range of thicknesses

JACKODUR Atlas is available in thicknesses ranging from 100 to 320 mm. As a result, JACKODUR Atlas can be used for all types of building, from conventionally insulated houses to passive houses.

All the standard base-plate geometries can be created with JACKODUR Atlas. Because the system is partially prefabricated, the individual components simply need to be joined together and cut to the desired length. It is not necessary to remove the formwork.

JACKODUR Atlas is available in thicknesses ranging from 100 to 320 mm and consists of the following components:

Alternatively, JACKODUR Atlas can also be manufactured as a complete system. In this case, JACKODUR Atlas is manufactured to the planner's specifications and delivered to the building site together with an installation plan. The elements require no further cutting or adjustment.

  • Start with an angle element.
  • Then add a side element.
  • Followed by the next side element.
  • Next come the surface elements.
  • The formwork element is inserted into the groove provided for the purpose.
  • Make sure the joints are offset to the surface element.
  • The elements are really easy to cut with a hot wire cutter. You can even cut rabbets and ensure that your joints are free of thermal bridges.
  • Once you have finished, lay a PE film on top and pull it up at the sides.
  • Finally, cast the base plate in the insulation and formwork system.
